The Swings and Sharks.

Not long ago I was a seasoned job seeker, playing No Limit Hold'em in a quiet pub for grimy fivers was the hight of my week, grinding just enough to pay the rent and keep the power on.
Then a friend of mine decided the poker industry looked like fun, he started a pub poker league and gave me a job.
I would travel to all these small towns and go to every pub and bar and snooker club trying to sell them into our poker league, dressed in my best and chock full of bravado I boasted we were the answer to quiet their nights.
We did well, slowly a real business started to grow, then came the real deal.
I brokered a deal between the league and the largest online poker website in history, getting the league full sponsorship and validation from an established brand.
After I left the league a poker Magazine contacted me and said they had a job for me, advertising, client management that sort of thing.

This is how I ended up in the casino industry.

To put things in perspective imagine this; in 2009 the casino industry was worth US$335 Billion dollars. That is about the same as the entire GDP of Saudi Arabia.
So, needless to say the industry is full of people with bags of cash who are willing to let some it go. I ended up spending a lot of time in casinos, working, gambling socialising, it all adds up to the same thing.

This Blog will be where I catalogue some of the highs and lows of my experiences at the hands of this monster industry, busting chops and naming names, I will pull no punches.
